  • Fun with activism and infections and flats

So, three main things since I last wrote, Rose and I both have ear problems, I got a flat tire, and most important realy (except that it's all about me of course) is that we went to WAMM's Ceremonial Medical Marijuana Distribution.

So, first, ear problems... yeah. I have a (lol I accidentally posted this, forgot about it, and left it for several hours. made ya wonder, huh...) bad inner ear infection, and have spent the whole day dealing with a special combination of incompetent (or at least underpaid and understaffed and undertrained) people in a variety of places, and I still have not got my drugs. I NEED MY DRUGS!

    Speaking of drugs.

Yesterday was the vigil/medicine distribution for WAMM at City Hall. It was really beautiful, so so many people and the patients spoke about their lives and why they need their medicine and other people, a doctor, Valerie from WAMM and others, spoke about how this is about compassion for ill and dying people. There were pictures all over the place of medical marijuana patients and I was suprised to see a picture of a friend of ours who gets medical marijuana from the Oakland Cannabis Club for his prostate cancer. I just didn't know about it. But then I thought, why should I need to, I mean, most of my friends dont run around telling me about their prescriptions. Sigh.

Well, the vigil was beautiful, but sooooooo crowded, and angry stoners are a little har d to control sometimes, so I helped with crowd control. We went with Q & A, and met up with some other nice mamas and made a camp on the lawn. My sister, the ever bad-assed Mandelicious
was asked to do a report for some college radio station in Minnesota for it. Go Mand! She has two shows on KZSC now, check them out, Taste The Piano on Saturday mornings and Global Warming every 3rd Wednesday. Full schedule at http://kzsc.ucsc.edu/.

Anyways, it was an awesome event. More info and fabulous pictures at:

The last piece of news was I had a dumb flat tire. Big deal. Must be mercury in retrograde again...

I hope your ear clears up & that you got your drugs in the end...
