    We went camping with my herb school, it was fun, Rose got ANOTHER tick, more later.

  • Wow, our car died this morning and I have so much to do! Have to get to store for matzah and meat and and and and. Boil eggs, and and and and. Also, figure out the ritual, try to make it short and fun and kid friendly.

  • Home again, holidayarama

    So, we made it back... the Seder was a bit wild, Rose had not eaten before (bad plan) and I had to take her out so we missed the frogs and all and also "Go Down Moses" but got back for the green onion thwapping during dayenu (sp?) which she loved.

    On the way home, we stopped at Solvang, which was fun, even if it is insanely touristy. We got really good Strudel for Easter breakfast.

    Easter has been nice, Rose had a sugar spazz but it is over, my aunt and uncle, sister, BIL, nephew, SIL, and BIL's parents are here at my parents house. We had ham for dinner, strange, we used to all be vegetarians. Its all a big contrast to the LA thing, the Passover thing... our dual life. Fun, though.

    I think we are gonna try to have a Seder at our house, maybe Tuesday night. Hmmmm

  • Rose Shirley's Never Fail Mama and Papa Alarm Clock Techniques:

    1. When you are still asleep, turn sideways in the bed, and simultaneously kick one parent while headbutting the other. If you do this hard enough, everyone is awake, BONUS!

    2. Once you are awake, scream for soymilk. Repeat many times. Do not accept any other beverage.

    3. Once some parent has staggered around to get you milk, demand a video.

    4. Mama must not be under the covers after this point, even if you have milk and video, and snack. If she is, commence Emergency Mama Harassment (EMH)

    EMH procedure:

    1. Pinch mama
    2. hit mama
    3. pull mamas hair
    4. scream
    5. repeat until mama gets up and does not get back in bed.

    On another note, I promised my under the weather stellar best ever babysitting mama friends extraordinaire a report on the Lockheed Martin Demo, and I was too swamped with life this weekend to comply. Here's the report from IndyMedia, and hopefully pics soon. My own thoughts were: it was an excllent event, it took a lot longer than I thought it would (mainly cause the caravan was hard to organize and the police made us park far away from the site) and it was funny how the small group of counterdemonstrators got there as we were leaving and whined so much about the walk. Sorry, dudes.

    All in all, it was successful. Take this tactic to a local military contractor near you! The community deserves accountability!

  • DEPRESSED

    1. War sucks. Our government sucks. Working so hard for change and seeing so little of it sucks.

    2. Buyer says he cant go above 675,000. That SUCKS. Not sure what will happen now. :( :( :( 3.

    3. This leaves me still working here for the foreseeable future and sharing a house with people with double standards every way you turn for the foreseeable future.

    WAH, WAH, WAH.

  • Updates: I helped the hummy bird get out but I fear it was injured. :(

    Rose had her tick head removed this morning, with much screaming. Dr said to watch for 6 weeks and if she gets at all rashy or feverish, then we test for Lyme's. FUN.

    Counter Recruiting yesterday did not really work out... Sleeky and I were there, but just us, and two toddlers.... too hard!

    Peace action for today: planning meeting for Lockheed Action tomorrow. No civil disobedence is planned right now, and LM has said we can be there if we dont block the entrance, so I am hoping it will all be safe and successful.

    1. There is a hummingbird stuck in the house. Ifeel bad for it. I have opened everything I can, but it is not getting the clue. Poor birdie.
