Happy Birthday to Us...

S and I got our birthday cake yesterday!

It was a Sacher Torte, a yummmmmmmmmy Austrian chocolate-mocha-apricot-strawberry-cream yumaliciousness.

Yay!

And, Mr Mo and I successfully navigated the Finnish Bus System today! We are proud.

Now, if only it would warm up to say, -10 or so.

It has not been this cold here since the 1930's

Yesterday it was so cold K and S's car was frozen and so we could not go out. It was ok though, we had a quiet New Years. It was fun all except the 3am golf ball rolling children who woke us up.

OK, ready? It's about -20 FARTENHEIT here. Coldest since the 1930's. No kidding.

Happy New Year! We are celebrating the car starting with a cake (for new years, mine and S's birthdays too) and some sparklers.

We have an issue with our house. It is not ready, we were SO bad and procrastinated and then the power out and th weather and just as we were working hard Rose got so so sick! So we left a lot to do and are paying my sister to work on it, but she thinks it will not be ready in time. I can totally understand. I wrote to the realtor, we will see what he says. This is my fault, and I feel terrible about it.

Mega Pussi!

We ran a bunch of errands today (in the -27 c weather) and went to the "Prisma" grocery store and found these potato chips called "Megapussi!"!!! It apparently means something akin to Big Bag.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are having a lovely time, though Rose hates the cold, and the time change, too.

Yes, I am fully aware that there are evil works afoot in the world, even though my power has been out and I am not paying as close of attention as ususal. See Mandelicious's blog for a description of some of the worst.

The power did finally come back on. All is basically well.

Now to pack the house and us and do xmas and get on a plane!

Yeah we had to throw out a whole fridge of food.

Power was on when I left, but is now out at my folks house which is close to ours so likely ours is back out. The carpet cleaners were there so I don't know what will happen with that I am at work.

I think there will be a mudslide on our propane tank too, and I called the propane company and they basi ally said not to worry even if there is it will just shut off and to call them if it does happen. At least we can't be held liable now.

shit, I just want to make maple pecans and sleep in a warm house. Is that so wrong?
